Picket 43, from the
director of so many good military movies. Now Major Ravi not interested to deal
with war front movies. Picket 43 is a different kind of military background
movie, which focusing the feelings of soldiers those who stands in borders to
protect our country.
In Picket 43,
Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead role as Havildar Hari.
Havildar Hari is posted
to Picket 43, one of the most dangerous outpost of Indian Border, his hardships
to sustain and the bond he shares with his Pakistani counterpart unfolds the
performance make the movie live. One man stellar show was this one from him in
which he was so convincing and natural. Mostly at the climax scenes where he
scores bigtime with his fine dialogue delivery.
Renji Panikkar with his strong English uttering skills made a mark while Javed
Jaffrey made his entry to the Mollywood through a lovely role. Rest of the cast
including Anu Mohan, Shobha Mohan, Sudheer Karamana and Hareesh Peradi done
their short roles okay.
Major Ravi still is the
best man to churn out the Military movies that matters in the industry. After a
long Major Ravi is back by Picket 43 to the league which he once promised through
his first 3 films. This is another good watch from this director who provides
an emotionally heavy film which touches the hardships of an army man,
patriotism, an unusual friendship and the untold unity between the countries.
department done a plain job considering the genre of the film. Two soft
melodies featured in the stretch of the film which synced with the mood. BGM
was not so remarkable, could have done a better job.
Ranjan Abraham's cuts
were lacking the sharpness anticipated, it was a relief to see there were not
many unwanted scenes or sequences in the movie.
Jomon T John's camera was one of the major highlights of the movie through
which he captured all the beauty as well as the darkness of the border.
Genuine efforts deserve
an applause and the end credits roll, let's give a
salute to these brave hearts who protect us
Mariyam Mukku is the
first directorial venture of popular screenplay writer James Albert and the
film had a great star cast of hFahad Faasil, Joy Mathew, Aju Varghese, Manoj K
Jayan and new face Sana Althaf as heroine. The film don’t have much promotion
and hype before its release and the only hope on the film was James Albert who
wrote great scripts such as Classmates and Ividam swargamanu. But the film
ended up as a below average affair and it is not a good beginning to James
Albert as a director.
Mariyam Mukku is the
love story of Felix (Fahadh), a fisherman and Salomi (Sana Althaf). Felix who
lost his parents at a very young age is brought up by Mariyan Aasaan (Manoj K
Jayan). Felix meets his childhood friend Salomi but at a particular point he has
to choose between his Aasaan and the people of Mariyam Mukku as they stand in
his way to own Salomi. The events that unfold thereafter form the basic crux of
Its a confused script
as the scenarist is caught midway through as to whether to proceed as a full
length romantic film or add more drama to it. The latter option was chosen and
thus that romantic track that was developing well looses its presence.
Direction from James
Albert is not that bad and his screenplay had in it to deliver something good
but it ended up as an average film that is visually good with all those beaches
and sea backdrop beautifully captured by the cinematographer who deserves
credit for that. Renjan Abraham has done a decent work on the editing table
while songs by Vidyasagar is not upto the standards set by the music director.
Still it was refreshing to hear veteran singer Yesudas singing a song here.
Fahadh did a decent job
as Felix. It was a neat effort from the Asin look alike Sana Althaf as Salomi
who is also making her tinsel town debut. Manoj K Jayan as Mariyan Aasaan was
able to make a good presence along with Joy Mathew, Irshad, Nandu, Sadiq and
Neeraj Madhav. Prathap Pothan is also part of the film in a very brief role.
Aju Varghese also appear in a pivotal role but somehow he was not able to make
a big contribution. A lengthy list of other actors are also part of the
Overall, the film could
have been a better one had the love story between Felix and Salomi been better
handled and given more prominence than the events that unfolded later. Not a
bad film but did not provide the required level of entertainment either.
Impressed with his direction somewhat but not with the scripting completely and
I am going with two and a half out of five for James Albert's directorial debut

After a long time the
most popular messenger, WhatsApp launched its first Web based chat client
today. It is one of the most-requested features. Rumors of it coming soon
started appearing yesterday when screenshots of the latest WhatsApp app leaked

how that interface is used. With the quick scan of a QR code in-browser, you
can start chatting with your WhatsApp friends from the desktop.
To log into the service,
head over to the Android, Windows Phone, or Blackberry version of the mobile

finally sent a cease and desist letter to the most popular

After the several
issues faced by Lingaa now its cleared everything by deposit 10cr by the
producer in Court for the settlement of story theft issue..
Lingaa is all about
building a dam in a village region. Rajini plays dual role in the film, as an
engineer Raja who wants to build a dam in a region to solve peoples problems
and as Raja’s grandson Linga.
Anushka who belongs to
the village finds Lingaa. She bring him to the village and Linga plans to rob a
temple in that village. In that time he knows about the problems faced by the
peoples over there and then decides to finish his duty, how he does that is the
rest of the plot.
As like all Rajini
movie, a complete one man show. Rajini was at his best, his energy levels and
dialogue delivery will be a treat for his fans, his getup looked odd on screen
for few scenes, but leaving the film’s fate aside Super star’s performance
especially in Raja’s role is superficial and Lingaa’s role boost up the power
pack style performance. Anushka was nice looking but somewhere styling was
mismatch for her, Sonakshi sinha, a newbie in south films, was misfit in the
role. And she seems not comfortable with the local language.
was pale, Santhanam entertained at places, there were many artists on
screen including Jagapathi Babu, none of them created impact on the film.
The movie is directed
by KS Ravikumar. Music by AR Rehman was nice, Mona Mona song were very much
impressive, BGM is also upto mark, a lot was expected from him especially after
Shivaji and Robo.
Cinematography by Ratnavelu
is good. Editing Samjith not up-to the mark.
The impressive story

Except Rajini style,
Linga has nothing to offer new. Routine story and the same action packs. Well it’s
a power-pack entertainer, but fails to full fill the high expectation for a birthday

Action Jackson – A movie
with zero sensibility. Ajay Devgan, who looks too disinterested to pull off
this film's idiotic requirements, is in a double role here, although the parts
are barely distinguishable. He plays Vishy, a Mumbai goonda who can vanquish
over a dozen rivals singlehandedly. He also plays AJ, a hitman-for-hire in
Bangkok, who can slice and dice an army of enemies without breaking into a
sweat. In the hands of a better filmmaker, this might have been an interesting
device, but Prabhudeva plays it mostly for laughs.
At one point, both men must
switch places, which expectedly leads to humorous scenarios.Sonakshi Sinha is cast
as a presumably educated woman with a corporate job, who becomes obsessed with
seeing Vishy naked because - believe it or not - she's convinced it brings her
good luck. Wait, it gets worse. Manasvi Mamgai is Marina, who, when we first
see her, is about to be raped by the villain. Drugged and bound, she's turned
on by the sight of a shirtless AJ when he storms in to rescue her! There's also
Yami Gautam as AJ's fiancée, who in one of the film's most disturbing scenes,
is repeatedly punched in the face by a hulking bad guy. All this in shocking
This film is really an
orgy of bloody fight scenes punctuated by too many tuneless songs, and some
juvenile gags that might amuse a six-year-old. My heart went out to poor Kunal
Roy Kapoor, so good in Delhi Belly, but wasted here as Vishy's comic sidekick.
In one scene, he farts in the face of a man who's about to sip his tea, causing
a storm in his teacup...quite literally. It's the least offensive bit in a film
that assaults your senses and leaves you feeling battered and bruised.
