Vaayai Moodi Pesavum,
the second directorial venture of Balaji Mohan, is released today (April 25).
The Tamil flick, which is simultenously made in Malayalam as Samsaaram
Aarogyathinu Haanikaram, has generated a lot of hype with its promotions..
Well, the Tamil flick starring Malayalam actor Dulquar Salman and Nazriya Nazim
has opened up to positive reviews from the fans. Director Balaji Mohan had
struck gold with his debut movie Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi. His
budget-management and the presentation had impressed urban audience. Indeed,
his success became a lesson for many aspiring filmmakers on the importance of
promotional strategies and on keeping the financial aspect in control. His
latest movie Vaayai Moodi Pesavum has similar effect on the audience. Starting
from the first look to the audio release, everything has worked in favour of
Vaayai Moodi Pesavum. So, the expectations are very high on the Tamil flick. It
is also simultenously made in Malayalam with the title Samsaaram Aarogyathinu
Haanikaram. The early reports emerging from various sources say that Vaayai
Moodi Pesavum is a romantic comedy. A flu badly hits a village and their
sufferings becomes the main plot of the story. Dulquar Salman, the son of
Malayalam superstar Mammootty, plays the role of a salesman named Aravind. He
is called Dr. Fix It.
Vaayai Moodi Pesavum reportedly projects that the main problem for all miseries
is lack of communication. Performance wise, Dulquar Salman has done a neat job
and Nazriya Nazim has continued to impress audience with her cute looks.
Box Office Analysis

Fraud, which is all slated to get released on May 8, has been banned by theater
owners from screening. And Now its
releasing is postponded to May 16. Now, this was the latest news on the film.
This news has been cornered with yet another news on the movie. As per the
latest news, the satellite rights of Mr Fraud has been sold for a whopping
amount of Rs 6.5 crores! Now, this news is quite contradictory. How come the
movie satellite gets sold when the releasing of the film itself is in dilemna?
It has been reported that popular Television channel Mazhavil Manorama has
bagged the satellite rights of Mr Fraud for Rs 6.5 crores.
After the success of
Drishyam, Mohanlal has many movies lined up and some of them are getting ready
for release. Of all, Mr Fraud is one of the most hyped films. Mohanlal plays the
title role in the film. He plays a man with many faces. Mr Fraud had apparently
finished its shooting and is now under its post production works. The movie,
directed by B Unnikrishnan, is one of the most anticipated movies of Mohanlal
for the time. The climax of the film was shot in Mumbai and Jaipur.
Unnikrishnan had updated about the shooting of the film earlier, saying that he
was stunned to see actor performing in an uneasy manner even now, as he had
seen him years back. This is the main highlight of this film. Mia George and
Pallavi Chandran are playing female leads in the film. This is the first time
Mia playing the ead for a Mohanlal film. Pallavi Chandran marks her second
movie in the industry with Mohanlal, the debut being with Mammootty. As said
above, Mohanlal will be seen in different shade of character in the movie. To
make it more firm, the crew has given a glimpse of his all avatars on the movie
posters which are been released till date. So, let us take a tour to see the
different faces of Mohanlal in Mr Fraud.
Mohanlal, who is basking in the success of Drishyam will shortly be seen as Mr
Fraud. The much anticipated movie of Mollywood is likely to hit screens in the
second week of May. If sources from Malayalam film industry are to believed,
then Mohanlal's different avatar as Mr Fraud can be seen from May 16 across the
world. The action thriller directed by B Unnikrishnan had made a huge buzz,
when the satellite rights of the movie was sold for the record price.
Apart from Mohanlal, Mr Fraud also features Siddique, Dev Gill, Mia George,
Pallavi Chandrana and others in the supporting roles. Mohanlal plays the title
role in the film, which is produced by AV Anoop under the banner AVA
Productions. He plays the role of a maverick, who makes things happen according
to his ways. Earlier Mr Fraud was likely to release on May 8 and now its
postponed for The theater owners have denied screening the movie. Now, this has
adversely affected the movie and it has landed in trouble. If reports are to be
believed, sources claim that the theater owners have come to such a conclusion
after B Unnikrishnan, the director of Mr Fraud, has been banned by the Film
Exhibit Federation. This has landed the movie also in trouble after the theater
owners decided to ban the movie from screening.
However, the makers and Mohanlal are tight lipped about the revise of the
release date. The movie has also become the talk of the town with its two
thrilling teasers, which was released recently. Mohanlal's fan are eagerly
awaiting for the movie in which the actor is seen as a dynamic hero.

Prediction came true to
the T as '2 States' opened to 50%-60% occupancy at multiplexes on its opening
day. Well, that was good enough for the Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar
production to register a very good first day total, which only paved the way for
consistent footfalls on Saturday and Sunday. As a result, the film's opening
weekend stands around the 38 crore mark which is simply superb. For '2 States',
which has a three film old hero (Arjun Kapoor) and a two film old heroine (Alia
Bhatt), these are indeed fantastic results.

As a result, director
Abhishek Varman is now all set to be the newest entrant in the 50 crore club
and it would be interesting to see how much further does the film travel now.
The reviews as well as word of mouth range from above average to very good which
means the film would enjoy patronage from audience for next few days at the
least. Currently it is next only to 'Jai Ho' and 'Gunday' as far as opening is
concerned and in terms of the lifetime total, it would be in the third position
soon as well by edging past 62 crore total of 'Queen'.
For Sajid Nadiadwala as
well as Karan Johar, this is a much welcome money spinner. On the other hand it
is an interesting phase for the industry too where newer entrants like Ranveer
Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth
Malhotra and Sunny Leone are finding audience for themselves with Kangna seeing
a resurgence too.
'Dekh Tamasha Dekh' was
the other release of the week and found a niche release for itself. The number
of shows was restricted too and though the film fetched some good reviews, the
collections weren't notable. Third release of the week was 'Lucky Kabootar',
which after quite a few unlucky delays, saw a poor release with zero promotion,
buzz and hype, hence getting lost in oblivion.
Bhama is all set to
play a 15-year-old school going child in her upcoming movie. The film titled
Ottamandaram is based on a true life incident that happened in a family in
Andhra Pradesh. The director of the film Rajesh Mankara says that his movie is
based on a real life incident that happened to a family residing in Andhra
Paradeh. A 15-year-old girl is forced to sleep with her brother-in-law as her
elder sister has infertility issues and has problems in bearing a child.
The child is made to sleep with her brother-in-law forcefully, to bear the
child. In the real life story, the brother-in-law expires, making the whole
effort a pointless one. Bhama will essay the 15-year-old child in the movie.
Sajitha Madathil will play the elder sister and Nandhu will play the
brother-in-law. In the movie, the elder sister takes the firm decision, takes
over the child and makes the girl go back to school and continue her education.
But, in the real incident, the family does not complain about anything.
Director says that he opted Bhama as she is perfect to picturise an adolescent
child. The actress too is very excited about her challenging role and is
already preparing for the same by trying to become more slim. Ajay Muthana will
be scripting this film.
Its awesome, after
highway a great makeover for Alia..looking more pretty in the colorful south
The much awaited and
hyped movie “2 States” at-last reached theater on today(18-April). After
reading the Chetan Bhagat’s book 2 States , a huge number of youth’s become his
followers. But now, it’s the turn to Arjun and Alia, the onscreen chemistry
between those pretty youngsters become at its peek…
In one line it’s a colorful
pretty love story that not ever seen before in bollywood, it’s the real life
story of the writer Chetan Bhagat.
Krish Malhotra (Arjun
Kapoor) and Ananya Swaminathan (Alia Bhatt) meet at IIM A and fall in love. It
takes a while to reach the state where they want marriage, and that is all to
the good. This part of the film is light and frothy, with both Arjun Kapoor and
Alia Bhatt rubbing off each other, and managing to generate some electricity
while they tumble in and out of bed and class and graduating day ceremonies.
meet–the-parents aspect of the plot, based on Chetan Bhagat’s autobiographical
novel of the same name, that becomes too much: just why are parents in this day
and age so fiercely opposed to the union of ‘chicken’ and ‘sambhar’? Mr
Malhotra (Ronit Roy) drinks and is obnoxious. Mrs Malhotra (Amrita Singh) feels
that Ananya has ‘phansaaoed’ their ‘gora chitta ladka’. The truth is that
Ananya is more ‘gori’ and ‘chitti’ than their sonny boy, and holds down an
equally well-paying job. So what’s the problem?
Krish’s mom is
submissive and passive-aggressive, like all good moms of boys who think their
‘laadla’ is being stolen away, but her downer against Ananya seems to have no
real reason, just like in the book: culturally opposed parents may start off
warring, but they also have ways of getting around these things without so much
pointless sparring. Is this film coming out in 2014 or in the 60s?
(Shiv Subramaniam and Revathy, well cast) live in Mylapore, and are the
biggest cliche in the piece: they are grumpy and unfriendly, he drinks coffee
and refuses to smile and she wears Kanjeevaram and does ditto, even though they
come around to Krish faster than his parents to Ananya. South Indians can scowl
and live in spare homes and sing Carnatic music, but the film exaggerates
both the cultural
specificities and the spurious differences.
When the going is good,
both Kapoor and Bhatt, she more than he, rise above the film’s flaws. He has a
few good moments. But Alia Bhatt is a surprise. She leaves behind her earlier
films, and gets into her character: she may not be an authentic ‘Southie’ in
terms of body language, but she is all girl, easy and fresh and natural.
I was hoping to see in
a story that is familiar – marrying across the great cultural divide of the
north and the south – and yet always relevant as well as bursting with
possibilities. What could've been a truly engaging and witty look at a clash of
sensibilities turns out to be a typically superficial Bollywood ‘entertainer’.
Shyam Dhar and team made a spectacular thriller. It should be an another hit of thriller kind of movie in malayalam. Prithviraj fans had
been desperate for the release of his next film 7th day. The movie release was
to clash with Mamooty's Gangster yesterday. But the makers decided to push the
release date by a day. Prithviraj's most anticipated Malayalam movie 7th day hit
The movie written by
debutant Akhil Paul is a crime drama. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays an ageing IPS
officer on the trail of an unnatural case. Prithviraj has also crooned the
title track of the film. His first song was Suryamukham for Puthiyamugham and
the next, Vadakku Vadakku, for Urumi. The movie has been extensively shot in
Ooty, Wagamon and Earnakulam. Theatre artist Vinay Fort of Shutter fame plays a
journalist. The Prithviraj starrer got a clean certificate from the censor
board.. Kollywood baddie Yog Japee will mark his Malayalam debut as a villain
in the movie. The lead actor sports a salt-and-pepper look in the movie
Prithviraj on his
Facebook page said that no other film of his has garnered so much exhilaration
among the online community than this. That too for a movie helmed by debutants
is quite baffling.
Such has been the adroitness he exhibited in choosing his roles for the past
two years. Prithviraj's dialogue in that teaser in his deep, majestic, baritone
did give goosebumps to many.
But today as the film hits the theatres, after the festival of democracy that
the state witnessed, it's up to the movie buffs to decide the festival winner
at the theatres.
The Shyamdhar directorial 7th Day, penned by Akhil Paul travails the
investigation story of an unregistered case by David Abraham (Prithviraj) in 7
days, which commences on Christmas day and culminates on the New Year's eve.
Abraham sports a stylish salt n pepper look while the youngsters in the cast Tovino
Thomas, Anu Mohan, Vinay Fort, Janani Iyer, Praveen Prem were a bit off colour
in their performances. Vinay Fort seemed to be the better of the lot. The first
half moves at slow pace, for setting up the plot and the interval punch makes

gears in the second and the climax does score a point. The director Syamdhar
could have used Prithviraj the actor instead of Prithvi the star. Akhil Paul's
script, at times, has some awkward dialogues.
Sujith Vasudev has given a dark shade to the
frames and the lighting was brilliant. Deepak Dev's BGM was fine but not the
